Alfa Tools Announces New Rebar Cutter for Masonry Drilling
Morton Grove, Illinois
December 2025Â
Â
Drilling through concrete is tedious enough. Concrete is meant to last, so drilling in concrete isn't easy. Part of what makes concrete so durable is rebar. When drilling into concrete, avoid rebar, or you risk shattering your concrete drill bit.
Â
Carbide masonry bits are designed to cut through concrete. Carbide masonry drills are not designed to cut through steel rebar. Standard carbide masonry drills can quickly dull, break, or even snap off in the hole, especially when the hammer function is engaged. To help construction workers cut through rebar when drilling in concrete, Alfa Tools announces its new rebar cutter. These new rebar cutters eliminate the need to relocate holes to avoid rebar. They also prevent the hammer bit from breaking or shattering.
Â
The new two-piece rebar cutter works with the SDS-Plus shank, and the 3-flat shank. The new rebar cutter works with either shank. There is also a one-piece rebar cutter. Both cutters are for rotary use only. You can find these in our concrete/masonry drills section of our catalog and website.
